Mail sent to your old Traveling Mailbox address does not automatically move to your new account. Update the sender directly with your complete new address and mailbox number.
If the previous account is still active
Monitor that account and manage items received there. Arrange any needed forwarding using the mail-forwarding instructions, and follow up with senders still using the old address.
If the previous account is closed
Traveling Mailbox receives residual mail for up to six months after account closure. During that period, you can sign in and request forwarding. Shipping and handling charges apply.
This is not an automatic transfer to your new mailbox. Review the account-closure guidance and contact Support if you need help with a particular item or account.
How to reduce mail arriving at the old address
- Update every sender directly.
- Include the new mailbox number with your new address.
- Check saved addresses for subscriptions, recurring mail, and future orders.
- Monitor mail during the transition and contact senders who have not updated their records.
You cannot submit a USPS change of address away from a Traveling Mailbox address. If you previously used temporary USPS forwarding, covered mail returns to its original destination when that request ends; cancelling your mailbox does not itself end the USPS request.
If more than six months have passed since closure, contact Support about your situation. Do not assume the residual-mail period extends beyond the stated policy.
