Notify anyone who sends mail to your previous Traveling Mailbox address. Give each sender the complete new address exactly as provided for your new account, including your new mailbox number.
Sender checklist
Review your recent mail and update the senders that apply to you:
- Banks, credit card companies, and other financial institutions that use your mailbox as a mailing address.
- Insurance providers, healthcare providers, and benefit administrators.
- Employers, payroll providers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Subscriptions, membership organizations, and recurring deliveries.
- Government agencies that send correspondence to this mailing address.
- Family, friends, and other personal contacts.
This checklist concerns your mailing address. Follow each organization’s requirements for any separate residential, business, or other address it requests.
How to manage the updates
- Complete your new mailbox setup, including the required USPS Form 1583 for each recipient.
- Update senders through their address-change process and check saved mailing addresses for future orders.
- Track which senders have confirmed the change.
- Monitor both mailboxes and follow up with senders still using your previous address.
You cannot submit a USPS change of address away from a Traveling Mailbox address. Updating senders directly is essential.
Keep your previous account active until you have confirmed mail is reaching the new location and dealt with outstanding items.
